Brian J. Barkley

Owner of Functional Conditioning

Brian has been helping people lose weight, increase their strength and personal power.  He knows weight issues first hand.  He understands that losing weight is more than just “eat right and exercise”.  His commitment to fitness started in his twenties, when he realized that nobody gets to be twenty-something forever.  Brian hit the books, earning his degree in Sports and Fitness Technologies from Denver Technical College.  Quickly, he worked his way up to Fitness Director at the Cherry Creek Athletic Club.  In October 2001, Brian started Functional Conditioning giving access to quality fitness advice to everyone regardless of income.

 Accomplishments

Brian is recognized as one of the top experts in the health and fitness industry who knows the difference between quackery and what really works.  He has been featured in Esquire Magazine, The Rocky Mountain News, The Denver Post and Colorado Parent Magazine.  He and his client’s successes have been featured on CBS national news, KUSA channel 9News, KCNC News4, as well as other television stations nationwide.  Brian has become a trusted voice in an industry where so many claims are not backed by sound science.
He is the first and only health and fitness professional on Tom Martino’s trusted referral network at www.troubleshooter.com.
In 2002 Brian began hosting the radio show “Get Off the Couch” on 630 KHOW, where he tackled tough nutrition and fitness issues.
