I hope you and your family had a safe, and enjoyable 4th of July weekend.  I have been thinking of all the weight-loss product hype out there.  Every time you turn around, here comes another “quick fix” or some weight loss program designed to look as if it came from the medical community.

I would like you to think of Functional Conditioning as a lighthouse.  The definition of a light house is: a building, usually with a tower, built on the shore or on the seabed at some conspicuous part of the coast of a navigable body of water as an aid to maritime coastal navigation.  It is used as a warning to mariners of hazards, to establishing their position, and to guide them to their destination. Lighthouses serve as a landmark by day, and as a warning signal to warn and guide mariners by night.  Lighthouses help pilots and navigators keep their ships on course, and warn of impending calamity.

Let’s break it down:

1. Functional Conditioning is an aid in helping you navigate the waters of truth about exercise and food related issues,

2. Functional Conditioning will warn you of hazards before you hit them and reposition you on the right path to your overall health and well being,

3. Functional Conditioning will help keep you on course and warn of impending calamity.

We take pride in being an honest and reputable company that encourages wellness through proven technologies and common sense.  What we are NOT is a get rich quick scam that preys on consumers promising them quick results without any effort.  Let’s look at the following keys to your success:

1. Know and understand your metabolism by having your metabolism measured by way of the BodyGem.

2. Keep track of your food and beverage intake.

3. Do cardiovascular activities in moderation.

4. Strength train.

5. Stick with it. It takes much longer to lose a pound of fat then it is to gain it.

Success is a very simple formula. Success takes commitment. Success takes effort. Success takes time. If you have quit in the past, that’s OK. What is not OK is to lie down and feel sorry for yourself. There is no shame in falling down; the real shame is not getting back up.

July Clients of the Month

Bill and Kathy have been doing one-on-one training with me for over two years now. They both are very dedicated, and their enthusiasm is contagious.  I could not be more proud of both their progress.  They never complain (even when doing plyometrics), and see the value of investing in their health and well being.  Both have increased lean mass and decreased body fat.  I feel privileged to work with them on a regular basis.  Keep up the great work!!!
